Founding

In July of 2013, on a car ride, the eleven-year-old Robby Eimers thought to himself: Maybe since I do all of this work, I should start a Foundation. He had been helping the homeless for over 3 years already, aided by his younger sister, Emma, and encouraged by his grandmother, Cynthia. He chose to name it The Eimers Foundation, setting the goal to help the homeless and inspire others to do so too.  In May, 2015, The Eimers Foundation officially became a 501 c.3 .  His family wanted to make sure he was serious about all of this.  After almost 5 years of his weekly visits to help his Friends,  they realized he was and helped make it happen.  Soon after Robby started Sharing with his Friends, Emma Rose was inspired to start a division of  The Eimers Foundation named Furry Friends.   She helps the homeless animals who live on the street with their homeless owners and in shelters by providing food and other needs.  She helps families who can not afford to have their animals surgeries by paying for them.  She also helps the Detroit Mounted Police horses.  She has donated thousands of pounds of food and dollars over the years.

Getting the Message Out

On August 3, 2013 the Foundation's Facebook was created.  In the week following its creation, the Foundation had a total of about 91 Likes - quite an achievement for this new organization!  He now has over 4800 likes, but as Robby says, "It isn't about how many likes I get, Its about how many people are inspired to do the same."

Messages were sent to the Page and many comments were made, some even requesting to donate to the Foundation. It became apparent that a mailing address was needed. They received their P.O. Box, and began working on the next steps.    They now have an office address:
16825 Coral Ln   Macomb  MI  48042    You can reach the office at 586-201-0586

Future Goals

 The goal: To End Homelessness.

While he has acknowledged all he has done, he understands that it is not enough. He wants to work on ending homelessness completely, and has begun taking the necessary steps. In the meantime, he does all he can to make his Friends comfortable.   Until then, they wish to one day have their own shelter where the homeless can bring their dogs with them.  Many could have a roof over their head at night, but they will not leave their dog.  (some have cats and rabbits too)
